Maria Jesus Maldonado, Esquire

Ms. Maria J. Maldonado founded her law firm soon after becoming an attorney and after eleven years of working as a paralegal for some of the biggest law firms in Orlando. As a result, she understands her clients’ needs to personally meet the attorney and to promptly respond to her clients’ concerns. She also worked in Washington D.C. in one of the biggest mergers nationwide.

Ms. Maldonado has done community work educating the elderly in consumer law issues at The Life Project Center and serving as guest/mentor to a juvenile rehabilitation program. Currently, she volunteers with the Department of Juvenile Justice providing rehabilitation based on positive and motivational reinforcement for a group of juveniles who are under probation programs.

Furthermore, Ms. Maldonado ran as a political candidate in 2004 for the Soil and Water Supervision, which is a non-partisan, non-paid position. She finished second out of 7 candidates, receiving over 57,800 votes based on vigorously run grass-roots campaign, including organizing volunteers, walking door to door, appearances before civic groups, in newspapers, and on radio and television. As a result of her efforts, she was awarded a Leadership Award and was appointed to serve in the Orange County Membership and Mission Review Board.

Carlos Vega, Esquire

Before establishing The Vega Law Firm P.A., Mr. Vega was an associate with the Lippman Law Offices, where he helped the firm establish and managed the firm’s office in Kissimmee. He was also an associate and later a partner with The Defense Group, a DUI and Criminal Defense Law Firm, where he was also instrumental in expanding the firm from one office to offices in four counties.

Mr. Vega served for several years as an Assistant State Attorney with the 9th Judicial Circuit, practicing in both Orange and Osceola Counties. As a prosecutor he successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases in the areas of criminal traffic, misdemeanor, and felony. His assignments included Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Domestic Violence Specialist Prosecutor where he received specialized training to handle these types of cases. Mr. Vega is also holds a certificate on the operation of the Intoxilizer 8000 series Breathalyzer and field sobriety exercises.

Prior to joining the Office of the State Attorney, Mr. Vega served for over 21 years in the Marine Corps, retiring in 1998. During his career Mr. Vega served in numerous assignments including legal officer, senior advisor to commanders, commander, and the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service. His vast military experience allows his to aggressively represent military personnel in cases prosecuted under the Uniform Code of military Justice. He also served two years as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office giving him a further insight into complete cycle of a criminal case.

His experience in the government, public, and private sectors along with his determination and work ethic enables Mr. Vega to achieve very favorable results. These unique experiences allow him to more fully understand the needs of his clients, thus giving him the insight to better represent them. He understands your rights and what it takes to defend them. It is this understanding that drives him to get the job done and achieve the results you deserve.
